Texas A&M offensive line transfer Colton Thomasson has committed to Baylor following his official visit on Sunday. He joins Montana State’s Omar Aigbedion and Ohio’s Kurt Danneker as additions for the Bears on the offensive line via the transfer portal this offseason.

“I’ve been recruited by Baylor since I was 12 years old,” he said. “I have a lot of love for the place!”

The 6-foot-8, 320-pound prospect only appeared in two games last year so was able to maintain his redshirt. Thomasson was recruited as a tackle by Texas A&M and during his true freshman season he worked at left and right tackle but this offseason he was moved to guard. That versatility is a huge reason why he was a priority for the staff.

“Coach Mason Miller is awesome,” he said. “He’s developed guys and wants to develop me to help the Bears win games this fall!”

The former four-star prospect in the 2023 class held offers from Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M, TCU, Baylor, and Michigan State during his recruitment. He was an All-American Bowl Selection and a 6A first-team all-state selection.

He has four years of eligibility remaining which will give him time to compete right now but also allow him to develop for the future.
