Why is Rick Barnes singling out Scott Drew and Baylor?
Why is Rick Barnes singling out Drew's recruiting and not Bill Self's? Or Mark Turgeons? Or anyone else for that matter. Why is Rick Barnes publicly calling out Scott Drew and not John Caliparis, etc?
Shame on Thayer Evans and the New York Times for continuing to promote UT propaganda.
Go to their postgame after losing to us. Little Ricky is apoplectic.
I agree with your comment, but most likely the NY Times used selected portions of quotes from Barnes for their anti-religious school propaganda. The NY Times sports page doesn't escape their paper's overall leftist agenda journalism. Sad, because freedom dies when journalists refuse to print the truth.

Agreed. One has to wonder what's going on at the Grey Lady. I've read the paper for decades and it's formally well deserved reputation as the Newspaper of Record is eroding with actions such as this. Yet it was not always so. When Michael Johnson was flirting with and setting world records they dutifully followed him all over Europe and Asia writing glowing stories that did not avoid mention of his home and his coach. I can recall other examples from that era and later that made me think there must be a Baylor graduate somewhere key in the organization. Stories such as this which seem to carry an agenda as noted in this thread are making longtime fans of the paper worried far more than those on the opinion page (where only the owners of the paper which is privately held by the Sulzberger family are accountable). The Times remains a leading newspaper but its standards are not pulling up those of journalism in America as they once did.
As for Barnes, I can only pity him. His published remarks are pathetic.
The contrast between his relationship with the press and Kim Mulkey's willingness to call out a reporter in public in the most stark and effective terms as shown in the other thread here is telling. He's a tool in the most pitiful sense.
Barnes is an a$$-clown who was out-coached and booted from the Big 12 tournament. Wall and Clifton have nothing to do with the a$$ kicking he got at the tournament.
Listen to the first question asked to AJ Abrams by The Stateman's Kirk Bohls: "Did you ever think that you'd lose to Baylor?" He sounded like a complete pompous a*s.
Even AJ was taken aback by the question and made him repeat it. AJ responded with a great deal of class IMO:
- AJ: Can you repeat the question?
- Kirk ButtHoles repeats his question verbatim
- AJ (Summary): I don't think you want to say that, you want to try and beat every team you play. Baylor is a good team and lost a some close ones. They played a good game for the most part
Kirk ButtHoles is now on my People-I'd-like-to-punch-in-the-back-of-the-head list.

Absolutely, Abrams showed class on how he handled that question. I almost spit my coffee out when that question was asked.

Another article in today's NYT discussing Drew's recruiting practises. This onewritten by Thayer Evans.
